영어 인터뷰 시 유의사항 및 빈번한 질문들

국제화시대 외국기업이 계속 진출하여 한국 주식의 40%를 외국인이 소유하게 되었다.
영어가 일반화 되었고 영어 인터뷰도 너무나 일반화 되고 있다
이에 영어 인터뷰시 주의점과 빈번한 질문들을 요약 해 보았다.
*영어 인터뷰 시 주의점
첫째, 면접시간보다 10분 전쯤 미리 도착하여 안정을 취해야 한다, 긴장을 하면 실수를 할 확률이 높다.
둘째, 자연스럽게 자신감을 가지고 솔직하게 대화해야 한다. 영어를 잘 못한다고 apologize할 필요는 없다. Self-confidence를 드러내는 것이 중요하다. 기업은 채용하려는 position에 제일 적합한 인물을 원한다. 적극적인 성격은 대체로 선호하나 position에 요구되는 성격에 비해 지나치게 aggressive할 경우 능력이 있어도 채용을 꺼리는 경우가 있다.
셋째, 질문에 대해 yes, no 등 one word로 대답하지 말아야 한다.. Becase 등으로 연결하여 설명을 붙이는 것이 좋다.
넷째, 면접관의 질문 요지를 잘 파악 해야한다. 질문의 요지를 잘 파악하지 못할 땐 다시 한번 확인하여 엉뚱한 답변을 하는 실수를 하지 말아야 한다.
예) You mean that the person in charge of the position requires high level technical skills?
- 질문을 잘못 들었을 경우엔 당황하지 말고 "I beg you pardon."이라고 하면 다시 얘기해 줄 것이다.
다섯째, 면접관이 말하는데 도중에 말을 가로막지 말아야 한다.. 그리고 면접관이 말할 때 경청하며 적당히 맞장구를 치는 것도 좋다.
예) Thats true. Yeah, Exactly. I think so too.
여섯째, 면접 도중에 실수를 하게 되더라도 미리 낙심하지 말고 끝까지 최선을 다하여 답변하는 자세가 중요하다. 어떤 기업의 경우 의도적으로 기분 나쁜 질문을 던지기도 한다.
일곱째, 면접관이 마지막으로 "Do you have any questions?"라고 물었을 때 "I dont have any."라고 하지 말고 이 때가 좋은 기회라고 생각하고 준비한 질문을 해야한다. 면접관은 지원자의 job을 얻기 위한 motivation의 깊이와 그 회사에 대한 관심도를 알고 싶어 한다.
