Title: Staff Engineer (Customer Quality)

[JOB SUMMARY]
• To manage Customer Quality team, who handles external customer complaint, feedback and specific request to ensure customers’ satisfaction with MNC’s products and services.
• To review & approve all matters relating to external customer compensation and material returns
• To plan and coordinate execution of all backend reliability assurance activities for product shipped to customer. To fix any gaps in wafer fab which may cause failure in customer packaged product.
[MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES]
1. Manage external customer requirements such as customer complaints/returns, claims, failure analysis, specifications review & queries, SBL (statistical bin limit) confirmation and other tasks as assigned by superiors
2. Perform cycle time tracking to ensure timely feedback to external customers
3. Work with operations to perform required investigations/root cause analysis for return products from external customer
4. Prepare Interim and Final 8D Report to external customers
5. Tracking of all corrective / preventive actions and ensure timely closure.
6. Manage external customer returns and complaint rate to meet organization / department goal
7. Review and approve all RMA (Return Material Authorization) and DYS (Die Yield Sharing) documentation
8. Review and approve Target Yield calculation
9. Review and approve physical return product and ensure proper disposition & tracking
10. To contribute towards the achievement of quality objectives by complying to the quality operating system and participating in continuous improvement activities (defect prevention, reduction of variation or prevention of waste)
11. To contribute towards the achievement of the EHS objectives by complying to the EHS policy and participating in the implementation of EHS management system.
12. Any other assignment deems fit that shall be given from time to time.
13. The engineer may be assigned to handle MRB and CCB relevant tasks.
[AUTHORITY LEVEL]
1. Direct line of communication to external customers
2. Delegation of tasks during customer complaint investigation
3. Verification acknowledgement on all RMA & DYS forms
4. Access to information related to external customer’s commercial and technical contracts, Purchase Order (PO), Sales Order (SO), Invoice, Credit Note (CN), Debit Note (DB), product shipment & pricing records
[POSITION REQUIREMENTS]
1. Qualification: Master/Bachelor degree of Engineering/Science (Material, Physics, Microelectronic) or equivalent
2. Experience: At least 8-10 years’ work experience in semiconductor industry, electronics or equivalent, preferably with experience in customer complaint handling and quality assurance function. Strong knowledge in semiconductor device physics and process on modern IC manufacturing. Basic knowledge on ISO 9000/TS16949.
3. Skills/Competencies:

b) Customer oriented – possess good customer service skill in developing and maintaining relationship with external customers
c) Good leadership quality in areas of expertise
Technical/ Functional Competencies
a) Good knowledge in wafer fabrication
b) Knowledge in wafer sort/assembly/backend related process will be of added advantage
c) Good analytical, problem solving and report writing skills
d) Facilitation and presentation skills
e) Strong ability to develop and maintain good relationship with external customers.
